Category Archives: Let Them Be Little

300 seconds. This is how long my babies would cooperate for a “watching them grow” photo shoot. Hey, I’ll take it. Bribing and pacifiers heavily utilized for these pictures. Apologies for lack of variety…sometimes it’s just not possible. Wanted to share anyway.

Tutu–made by yours truly. Jewelry–part of the late grandma Cleo’s costume collection. Mini wicker chair–found on the street corner of an antique store. Children–rented from Blockbuster. Oh wait…

Really? Does it get any cuter than this? I know, a little over the top with the props but what the heck.

This is her deciding whether or not to eat the crystals and pearls and me not caring until I get the shot. Kidding, kidding…safety comes first.

So apparently the drool is an indication she was actually trying to eat them.

Look ma…I am going to sneak out my window in 14 years. Remember this moment!

Cheeks for days…I still haven’t been able to locate her neck.

I title this one “confused.” A true testament of how toddlers always want what the other one has.

Oh ya, that’s better. He sleeps with his ball and glove every night but it took me bribing with M&Ms to actually get him to pick it up for a pic. Love those dimples.

People think he’s a girl all the time with his long hair and soft facial features. I think he’s a handsome little man. And no, I am not cutting his hair so please stop asking.

Want her things, love her. Want her things, love her. Want her things, love her.

The loves of my life. Thank you fast shutter speed for allowing me to capture a memory that only occurred for a fraction of a second. The end…

This session was a riot. This little lady showed up with a bag of her favorite things and boy was she excited! The wind was the worst I’ve ever shot in so I embraced the “wispy” look. She is SO mature for her ripe ol’ age of 6 and is an amazing, completely fluent reader with narrator type intonation and expression. As a school teacher, I am highly impressed with her reading skills and was thrilled to see her bring her favorite book. Be prepared to see it in a lot of shots because she just adores that book and must have read it at least 5 times during the shoot. Love it. She was a hoot of a model but did not like the door picture idea. More of that in a second. Enjoy this spread of a true reading beauty.
Me: Can I put you up in that window sill? Her: Yes, if I can read my book.
I loved the texture of this door but she thought it was ugly and allowed me just this one second of stillness. How beautiful is she!

Now for some gorgeous sunshiny reading and flower picking…

Oh how I wish every young person was this giddy about reading!

Such gorgeous eyes and such a happy little spirit…
Closing out the session with a little window shopping, dessert style. What a fun evening with a very neat little person.

This little guy was hysterical on our shoot together. Of course I dragged him and mom all over downtown and asked him to sit in some questionable spots and you know what his response was? “Need to clean this!” Yep, just turned 2 years old and already thinking about cleanliness. Wonder where he gets that from…hmmmm?

Here are some shots of this little guy by one of my favorite buildings downtown. By the time we got there, lighting was not ideal but I wanted to include them anyway as I dig the colors.

Awww…don’t happy little boys and their moms just bring you to your knees!

We’ll sign off here with a shot of his gorgeous baby blues. If only this pic uploaded to the web the way I see in on my screen, you would all be drooling!
