Convict Lake Resort Mammoth Wedding Photographer- Tani and Jeff

As an avid outdoorswoman and flat out lover of the Mammoth area, when Tani and Jeff contacted me about shooting their Convict Lake Resort wedding, I about jumped through the phone to agree with a vigorous embrace. The natural, enchanting setting of the Mammoth Lakes area complimented their love of the outdoors and Tani did a fabulous job of bringing this rustic vibe to their details as well. From the quaint cabins secluded in the aspens to the breathtaking ceremony spot overlooking the lake and the mountain range, Convict Resort is a haven for those wanting to embrace the mountain feel. Tani and Jeff exude happiness and positivity and it was a pleasure working with them to witness the union of their two cultures and families. Not to mention the fact that Tani used to work for Ghiradelli and they incorporated a massive chocolate and caramel station for the smores bar available for their guests. Yes please! One of the accents of the wedding that has remained with me was the paper crane station that their friends and family painstakingly constructed one crane at a time. It truly emphasized how loved they were and was a beautiful visual of this cultural tradition coming to life. Thank you to all the coordinators, chefs, and staff at the Convict Lake Resort for being so fantastic to work with and for making Tani and Jeff’s vision become a reality. Congratulations you two!

Lake Tahoe Hyatt Lakefront Wedding ~ Elissa and Andrew

What can I say about Elissa and Andrew that isn’t evident from the pure energy of these photos? Andrew and Elissa are from Texas, Dallas to be exact, and as big as that state is, completely replicated the size of their energy and love for each other. They are die hard cross fitters and I swear they could have benched pressed each other throughout the ceremony if they wanted to! I think Andrew picked Elissa up like a feather at least 85 times while I was there in pure, unadulterated passion for each other. Their entire entourage flew in from Texas to celebrate in Lake Tahoe at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe hotel. The waterfront setting was the perfect escape and venue for their amazing brunch wedding. Now the simple mention of a brunch wedding might leave you wondering about the lack of the traditional rough and rowdy reception dancing that most weddings portray deep into the night. Please leave those thoughts at home because this wedding rocked the house in broad daylight! Apple Z brought out the funk and the energy and spirit of the day was nothing I’d seen before before 3pm! They had a getaway boat ride planned to end the celebration but the waves were so rough on the lake that they improvised with a flower toss instead. I am blessed to have been a part of this union and celebration and only wish I could have stayed for the after wedding poker tournament.

Riki and Dylan {North Star House Wedding}

Riki and Dylan are the type of couple you want in your lives. They decided to hold their fun loving wedding at the Grass Valley North Star House venue which was the perfect rustic setting for their outdoor wedding. If you’re wondering how two people can be so good looking AND fun, stop now because I can assure you they are all that and a box of cookies. When you combine two last names like “Sheesley” and “Mitzel”, it’s only right that they combine into “Shitzel” in which all things wedding related soon became…Shitzelfest. It was hard for me to narrow down the post to just a few images because the entire day oozed with laughter and down right amazing moments. I feel so lucky to have been a part of this celebration and to witness their union. Truth be told, I was also there for the killer cupcakes and Billy Summers’ shenanigans (be on the lookout for his ridiculousness sprinkled throughout this post). This was one of those weddings that you never wanted to end…grandmas and grooms crying, cake smashing, dance floor butt grabbing, high jumping and jello shot slamming just to name a few. So without futher ado, enter Riki and Dylan and their day to never be forgotten.
