This super gorgeous and energized couple met through mutual friends on a trip to Hawaii. It was kind of like a “blind date vacation” and boy did it ever work out! It seemed only fitting that their engagement photos incorporate the sea and sand that originally brought them together. They live in the central coast and chose Avila Beach for the ocean shots. It was a perfect evening. Warm with a slight breeze and though the beach was crowded, we worked around the people to make them appear as if they were the only ones there. Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness in all their future endeavors.

Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed shooting them!

What are the odds that a handsome man from the Spanish Basque country would meet a beautiful Spanish Basque girl from America? Pretty darn good as this union is living proof. The groom’s family traveled from their Spanish hometown located around the western end of the Pyrenees on the coast of the Bay of Biscay. It is customary in the Basque culture to have the mother of the groom step in as his best man. The spirit of the day was something to be bottled and cherished forever as these two families celebrated the joining of their loved ones. It’s funny how joyful celebrations tend to break language barriers and how wine, music, and laughter can bring people together in ways no other situations can. The bride asked me to specifically capture this wedding photo journalistically and capture the true essence of their day. This was the kind of event that left people filled with a renewed sense of energy and appreciation and I am super lucky to have been a part of it.

I have to give a shout out to my amazing husband who 2nd shot this wedding for me. He is super proficient behind the lens and has shot a ton of film in his lifetime.  It was a blast having him by my side as my shooting partner to capture different perspectives. Thanks babe!
Venue: Hotel de Anza (Amazing place to check out if you’re in the San Jose area)

Florist: Array of Flowers (Note the amazing floral touches…these guys know their petals)

Music: 8 Track Massacre (Ok…these guys are THE wedding band. They rocked the house. Look them up. Follow them. Become a groupie. They’re that good.)

Enter the love…

I recently had the chance to second shoot this wedding in Gualala for the amazing and uber talented Nicole Cook of Nicole Cook Photography. If you’ve never been to Gualala, here’s what you are missing. Steep, sheer clifts overlooking stunning royal blue water. Inland you can find dense forests with the scent of eucalyptus wafting through the air. No cell service, no drive thrus, no strip malls, chain stores, or Wal Marts. Just pure, natural beauty. David and Amanda have been together for years and this official union joining was much anticipated. The little girl in the images is their daughter and second to Amanda of course, stole the show. Here are some images I captured from this gorgeous day.

Warning: Major beach pics overload coming now! They were so fun and the beach so gorgeous, I couldn’t resist.

Ok, does it get any cuter than this? Seriously!

And the wide angle angels descend on the sand and sing…..ahhhhhh!!! My fave from the day.

Ok this one is a close second…man how I love those starfires.

No, wait, this one. Ah! I can’t shoose.

Nothing like having an amazing stretch of beach all to yourselves on your wedding day. Magical…

Here’s to happily ever after.

Signing off with my last shot of the day…what a beautiful world! Congrats David and Amanda!
