When my friend Lauren got the most votes to be a “Mermaid for the Day” at the super wicked Dive Bar, I about passed out. See, around here we believe in unicorns, fairies, mermaids and all things magical. Take an amazing person, the fact that she chose to donate all her tips from the night to her favorite charity, The Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento, give her a tail and you surely have something magical on your hands. The The Active 20-30 Club of Sacramento is an amazing organization that has donated a lot of money over the years to our non profit sending underprivileged 6th graders to science camp. I got the honor of getting to go behind the scenes and shoot her getting ready for her merwoman debut as well as her very first public swim in a packed bar of patrons.
Enter a Disney tune…”Part of that woooorrrrrlllldddd”!! Thank you to the staff at the Dive Bar for their ingenious ideas and graciousness and for keeping the magic alive.
