Oh gosh. Where do I even start here? Brooke and Brad’s amazing outdoor wedding was a highly anticipated event since I first met them at their engagement session HERE. Full of love and laughter and real, true to life kindness. And rain. Seriously? It hasn’t rained like this in September since Noah’s Arc! While everyone sat waiting for the weather man to be wrong as he usually is, it was obvious the morning of, that the fabulous outdoor wedding needed a backup plan. They were able to get a giant white tent last minute from Mendocino and the boys ran to snag all the pop up tents the hardware stores had in stock. Everything was tarped, the dance floor had to be moved, the tables and table settings had to be repositioned and covered. It was quite a scene with everyone pitching in trying to save the day. Thank you to the bride and broom, Brooke and Brad otherwise known as “B2” and their friends and family for taking us in like we were family. Brooke’s dad retired as the director of the Golden Gate botanical gardens and her mom is an artist and ceramist who has an adorable little shop on site called “Garden Whimsey”. Needless to say, the grounds and decor were all beautiful and a labor of love all designed by the family. If you are ever driving through the Mendocino area, make sure to stop by Stoney Bottom Gardens and visit. You too will be treated like family. This wedding was so full of laughter and happiness that it was clear how close Brooke and Brad were to all their guests. I loved the bright color combos they used throughout all aspects of the wedding…it really mirrored their vibrant personalities!
Now on to the story…
So THIS was the scene as we were driving to the wedding site. Seriously. Dying here.
And then this…
Miraculously spirits were high!
And then….THIS happened! It was like the angels came down with their sun rays and made everything alright!
I’ve never seen so much chocolate all in one place. I really wanted to just lay in it all.
Best first dance ever!
And the clouds moved on but the party didn’t. I am so sad this blog post is over because it makes me want to do this day all over again. Congratulations to you both!
This is fantastic Jo! Very well done!
Jo, these are wonderful and because of you I will be able to relive the day over and over (since everything is a blur!). Brad and I adore you beyond words and are so glad you shared the day with us, capturing not only us but our friends and family. Love and hugs to you – photographer/designer/super hero!
