Take a gorgeous couple, a beautiful setting, a hilarious bridal party, and a chance to second shoot for my favorite photographer and friend Anita Martin of Anita Martin Photography and you have the recipe for a radical day. Yes I grew up in the 80s so don’t judge my valley girl lingo. Seriously though, this day was a blast and also one that will go down in my wedding history books for a different kind of reason. This was the (first) wedding I fell off a table. I say first because I know it will happen again. Yep, I was THAT photographer who got up on a table for a few shots and completely forgot I was elevated when I turned around to walk away. I was also the photographer who fell with zero grace but held my camera high like like a frat boy trying to save his beer when his friends throw him in the pool. So where’s the evidence? Can you believe Anita was more concerned about my health and safety to snap a shot of me flat on my back? What is wrong with her? We have spoken that if when this happens again…shoot first, then check me for broken bones.
Enough of this nonsense…on to the beauty of the union of Jamie and Richard. Oh and a little shout out to Yocha Dehe Golf Club for running a wickedly organized and friendly wedding venue and treating us like royalty. Your name is really hard to spell but your service is top notch!

I recently had the pleasure of getting to second shoot for the seriously adorable and sweet Melody White of Melody White Studios. Her work is pure eye candy so please go check it out. This outgoing couple started their day in South Shore Tahoe which is by far my favorite place on Earth. We then traveled to a little city over the hill for their reception. Roaring laughter, true emotion, and a killer wedding party made this day so memorable. I mainly shot the dudes who kept me in stitches the entire day and below you’ll see why! Enter the love.

This moment was so sweet…son a giant ball of nerves and mom so comforting and grounding.

The dudes.

Ok these guys had me in hysterics. All these shots were the groom’s doing and I just had to oblige. Of course I also had to blog them because there’s nothing I love more than laughter and friendship.

The gorgeous newlyweds.

This is one wedding where I didn’t stay until the last dance and boy am I sad about that. I mean just look at how much fun everyone is about to have!

Best wishes and good luck!

This is a two part story. The first part is obvious I hope. I had the chance to second shoot this amazing union between these two kind to the core individuals and their supportive and jovial guests. You know when days go exactly as planned and everything falls into place just perfectly? This was one of those days. I’ll let the images do most of the talking but before that I have to tell you about the second part of the story. On the day of this union, another union was being created and I didn’t even know it yet. I second shot this stellar day with Anita Martin of Anita Martin Photography and have to tell you, I adored her from the second I saw her and listened to her chat my ear off. You see, we are both big talkers and fast talkers and energetic and louder than the average cats and fun. Yes, I just called myself fun. Anywho, working with her on this day brought a new friend into my life and for that I will be forever grateful. We have since shot 4 more weddings together and I will luckily be her right hand (wo)man for a bunch more in 2013. Capturing the most amazing day of someone’s life with a photographer and friend who appreciates the laughter, moments, emotion, and unparalleled beauty of such events is a wonderful rush of happiness. Please go check her out here because I can’t even find the right words to describe how rad she is!
Back to the story at hand…let the love unfold in front of you now!
