Isobel and Matt {Mission Santa Clara Engagement & Wedding Photographer}

I met Matt and Isobel for the first time at Mission Santa Clara for their engagement session. I immediately felt as if I’d known them forever as their outgoing and friendly personalities were easy to relate to. Isobel is the most adorable 1st grade teacher while Matt works for his family business, Normandin Crystler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram, which has been around for a staggering 140 years! Matt attended UC Santa Clara so they chose this gorgeous campus as the home base for both their engagement session and wedding. Their adoration for each other was obvious and their happy and carefree laughter and affection was a joy to photograph. I am beyond excited to shoot their upcoming wedding here at Mission Santa Clara and The Ranch Golf Club.

Viva Mexico! Noreen and Steve’s Puerto Vallarta Wedding Mania

What is it about Mexico that makes you want to act like it’s Spring Break 93′?

Take a hootin’ and hollerin’ group of people and add a destination wedding at a south of the border all inclusive resort and you get the following: epic fun.
I have absolutely no idea how my gear survived the rain, flying drinks, post wedding pool cannonballs, and general debauchery, but we all made it home safe and sound in one piece. Straight miracle right there.
Steve and Noreen are one of of the most fabulous couples you’ll ever meet. If Steve were a television show, he would be a cross between Office Space and Dude Where’s My Car. Noreen is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside and brings balance to Steve’s quirky persona. To know them is to love them and my heart overfloweth with adoration for them even more after this trip.

When shooting a wedding in Mexico, one must be prepared for the unexpected. Like, maybe, the brother of the groom will be missing during photos. Maybe someone will lose a front tooth. Or maybe a random hotel vacationer will barnacle themselves to you and try to solicit the wedding guests into doing things even Mexico would shake its head at. Some may think they are Olympic gymnasts and fail miserably at doing “the worm” on the dance floor. Maybe there will be enough drinking to kill a small elephant. The groom may even try to wash his feet off in one of those outdoor foot shower thingies RIGHT before the ceremony and accidentally turn on the upper body nozzle and soak himself. Head to toe. I’m not saying any or all of these things happened. But I’m not saying they didn’t either. I’m just saying that one must always be prepared.

Please enjoy the vibrant colors of Puerto Vallarta and the overwhelming sense of joy and laughter you will experience while viewing the memories of this amazing wedding. I will not be posting the NC 17 album…that one you will have to use your imaginations for.

Foodtruckbeerwinelaughyfriendsbeachology {Central Coast Engagement Photographer}

-ology: The Greek suffix meaning “the study of”. This engagement session was surely a study of food trucks, beer, wine, laughter, friends, and the beach. It we are talking about studying these things…we are well prepared for the exam. Open book of course.

It was nearly impossible not to have a blast shooting this engagement session in the Central Coast for our super, duper, awesome and most loved friends. I mean how can you have a bad day when you start at the best brewery in town and end at the beach with wine tasting smashed in the middle? You simply can’t. We started our afternoon at Tapit Brew which has the best India Pale Ale around and were pleasantly surprised to find The Grilled Cheese Incident Food Truck posted up in the back. You’d think after pitchers of beer and 4 cheese sandwiches that we would have just fallen down flat food coma style, by no….we persevered. The Edna Valley is one of the most beautiful places to wine taste and just drive around and sightsee. We stopped at Talley Vineyards and Saucelito Canyon for some fermented grapes and photo opps. It was a warm, gorgeous January day in the Central Coast so we had to take advantage of the beach to round out the evening. Congratulations to our dear friends Mark and Jen who are finallllyyyyyyy getting hitched this June. It will be well worth the wait I’m sure!
